These terms govern your use of the Auric applications (Auric for Mac, Auric for iOS, Auric TUI, Auric Converter, and any related software) and the auricaudio.app website. By installing, launching, or continuing to use Auric, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the software.
Subject to your compliance with these terms, you are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use Auric on devices you own or control.
Auric TUI is open source under the MIT/Apache 2.0 license and governed separately by those terms.
Auric plays audio files that you supply. You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to store, play, convert, and transfer those files. Auric does not host, distribute, or provide music content.
Playlists, library indexes, and playback data you create in Auric belong to you. We do not claim any rights over your content.
You agree not to:
Auric integrates with optional third-party services (Last.fm, Apple Music metadata, AcoustID, MusicBrainz). Use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and may modify or remove integrations at any time.
Auric may update itself or change in substance over time. Breaking changes to file formats or features will be called out in release notes where reasonably possible. Continued use of the software after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Auric is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every configuration of hardware, operating system, or music file.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Auric or its author be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the software.
Total liability for any claim relating to the software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software in the twelve months preceding the claim.
These terms remain in effect while you use Auric. You may stop using Auric at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license for material breach of these terms. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, limitations, ownership) will survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Disputes not resolvable informally shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new date. For material changes we'll try to surface the change in the app release notes.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@auricaudio.app.
